Real Estate Alert! Work to resume on Badagry roads
The Real Estate Market in the Badagry axis is about to explode.
Despite series of developmental activities in this axis, like the deep sea port construction, free trade zone project, the multi-million Naira shopping mall projects amongst other infrastructural development, the road has been a major limitation on this axis.
On the master plan of Lagos state, the road linking other parts of Lagos with Badagry is a 12 lane road with BRT dedicated lanes and a light rail to make transportation in Lagos reach its peak of functionality.
Unfortunately, the road construction was halted for a while with reasons best known to the government. But with the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to commission the West African Lagos-Abidjan ECOWAS highway last week, there is a new twist to this story.
In a report hosted on Punch newspaper online on the 24th of October 2018 the Federal Executive committee awarded the contract for the continuation of the Lagos Badagry road. The dynamism of this contract is that the Federal Government will handle 46 kilometers area spanning from Agbara to Badagry, to Seme border. While the remaining areas of the road from Eric Moore to Okokomaiko will be handled by the Lagos State Government.
What this means is that at the completion of this mega road, properties in Badagry will skyrocket. In real estate, it’s better to buy a land or property when it is undeveloped and wait for development to meet you than to wait for development before you decide to buy.
